Goodbye Winnipeg, Hello Thunder Bay!

First day of travel down!! Only, many, many, many more to go…haha.

We arrived in Thunder Bay tonight safe and sound. It ended up being about a 9-hour drive, and while I was a little nervous that I would hate my life being in a vehicle for that long…I kind of loved it. Maybe my thoughts will change in a couple months, but it really wasn’t that bad. Plus, I am fortunate enough to live in a time where I have multiple electronic devices to keep me busy (and I’m exceptionally good at falling asleep absolutely anywhere – thank you, college) so it didn’t feel that long.

Plus, we’re short 2 girls in the van right now as they both have other engagements that require them to meet us in Ottawa, so we each had a full length seat to ourselves to spread out, lay down, or whatever.

(Plus, one of the girls missing is my roommate – so I have a hotel room all to myself tonight!!)

But yeah, it was fun. The drive was actually really beautiful – it was pretty much all forest with these amazing rock walls and adorable little towns. I think I forgot just how stunning our country really is. I felt really proud to be Canadian today.

Tomorrow’s drive will be a little longer…we’re leaving pretty early…but I don’t really mind. It’s almost therapeutic to be curled up in a van in my sweats and glasses and just be able to chill all day. Plus, 2 of our cast and crew smoke, so we get ample bathroom/leg stretching breaks. Although, our first break of the day ended up being a pee break for one of the girls on the side of the road…in snow up to her thighs…ah, the joys of Canadian road trips! She was a trooper though. I don’t think I could’ve done it.

But yeah…nothing else really happened today, haha. As soon as I got back to the hotel I had a long, hot bath (oh, how I missed baths!!) and now I’m pretty much ready for sleep.

But it’s good to be on the road. Officially.

And…I kind of love my life right now. That is all.
